The chemical formula of titanium dioxide is TiO2. It has stable chemical properties and does not react with most substances in general. The application range of titanium dioxide is as follows:
1. Titanium dioxide cosmetics are divided into oil-based and water-based titanium dioxide. Because of its stable chemical properties, high refractive index, high opacity, high covering power, good whiteness and non-toxicity, titanium dioxide is widely used in the field of cosmetics and has the effect of beauty and whitening.
It only needs to add 5% - 8% titanium dioxide into the face powder to obtain permanent white color, and it can also make the perfume finer and greasier with better adhesive force, absorptivity and covering power. The greasy and transparency feeling of liquid-to-powder foundations and cold creams can be reduced with the use of titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide can also be added in various perfumes, sun creams, soap flakes, white soaps and toothpastes.
2. TiO2 spray coatings are divided into anatase type and rutile type. Anatase titanium dioxide and rutile titanium dioxide have different structures and are used in different places. Anatase titanium dioxide is used in interior wall coatings because of its easy pulverization, while rutile titanium dioxide is commonly used for exterior wall coatings due to its aging resistance. Both the two types have stable crystal lattices, and they are important white pigments and porcelain glazes. Compared with other white pigments, TiO2 spray coatings have superior whiteness, tinting strength, covering power, weather resistance, heat resistance and chemical stability, especially non-toxicity.
3. In the screening of titanium dioxide, the common titanium dioxide is 40-325 mesh or even finer.

Titanium dioxide is not only used as colorant in rubber industry, but also has reinforcing, anti-aging and filling functions. Titanium dioxide for rubber is mainly used in automobile tires, rubber shoes, rubber floor, gloves, sports equipment, etc., and the common type is anatase titanium dioxide. However, a certain amount of rutile titanium dioxide is often added to tires to enhance the ozone resistance and UV resistance.
